A Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) graduate almost missed her convocation day due to a traffic jam.

If it weren't for a RELA officer who came to her rescue, she wouldn't have made it in time to the venue.

In a 10-second TikTok video, the graduate, who is in convocation robes, can be seen riding pillion on a motorcycle driven by a female RELA member.

The graduate's sister, who recorded the video, said that they were caught in a traffic jam at the UiTM Shah Alam campus on convocation day.

"My sister had to be in the hall before 1.30pm, so we left our house at Bukit Raja around 12.30pm since it takes 20 minutes to get to the campus," the TikToker explained in another video.

Little did they know, they had miscalculated the time and got stuck at the campus gate due to traffic.

Traffic jam congestion started outside the campus gate since it was peak hours and several convocation ceremonies were taking place simultaneously

They realised that they might not make it to the hall in time and thought it would be a hassle if the graduate walked to the hall instead because it was hot, which could have made her makeup melt.

"When we managed to get inside the campus, it was already quite late, but we thought that we still had time as it wasn't even 1pm yet," said the TikTok user.

The TikToker later said they saw a RELA officer who was monitoring traffic at the junction and decided to ask her for help.

"The RELA officer immediately agreed to help and took my sister on her motorcycle to the hall. Because of her, my sister arrived on time and got to go on stage to receive her scroll," she added.

She advised students to be at the campus at least two hours earlier for their convocation ceremony.

In the comments section, TikTok users thanked the kind RELA officer and congratulated the graduate

Some found it cute when the RELA officer helped the student to put on the helmet.

Meanwhile, others said the video was wholesome because they believe the moment will be remembered as one of the graduate's sweet memories on campus.

"How sweet of the RELA officer for helping (the graduate) to wear the helmet."

"Congrats. This is what you call a sweet memory that you can tell to your grandchildren."

"Treat the RELA officer to some good food for helping out."
