He made the serious allegation against Bersih after he filed a police report at the Dang Wangi police station yesterday, 4 October.

Jamal told reporters outside of the federal police headquarters in Bukit Aman that he has proof that there are ISIS elements in Bersih, adding that the terrorist group may take advantage of the upcoming Bersih rally that is scheduled to happen on 19 November.

It was reported that he handed a 22-page document to Federal Corporate Communication Unit representative Deputy Superintendent Rizal Abd Rahman Sidek.

The Sungai Besar UMNO Chief also claims that part of the information he has obtained came from PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli who is also Pandan MP.

When asked to reveal the contents of the information, Jamal declined by saying it was up to the police to divulge the details

"These are confidential documents which I feel only the police need to investigate to determine its validity. And we were confident that once we got this information, it was our responsibility as a coalition of NGOs to pass it on," he reportedly said.

"We have compiled information from reliable sources that ISIS militants plan to infiltrate the Bersih 5 street rally."

"Let the police investigate and verify this information. We don't want these things to infiltrate our society," he was quoted as saying.

Responding to the matter, Bersih 2.0 chairman Maria Chia Abdullah has threatened to sue Jamal if he does not apologise in the next 48 hours

It was reported that a letter of demand (LoD) was sent to Jamal through a legal firm yesterday, 4 October.

It is understood that Maria Chin’s lawyers have demanded that Jamal publishes a full withdrawal of his statements and apology, on top of giving a written undertaking not to publish any defamatory statements or make similar remarks.

Maria Chin said that the statements made by Jamal were "completely false, malicious and defamatory”, and calculated to injure her reputation.

Meanwhile, Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli has also rubbished Jamal's allegations

Rafizi said that he has never provided any information that links Bersih to ISIS as alleged by Jamal.

"I don’t know anything about what Jamal said. I don’t want to know and am not interested to know," he said in an immediate statement yesterday, 4 October.

"Jamal talks nonsense. Whoever entertains Jamal will similarly be talking nonsense like Jamal. Jamal is the biggest clown in UMNO. The UMNO leadership has a daily headache with trying to silence this increasingly unfunny clown," he said.

He also denied knowing Jamal and asserted that he has never had any form of communication with the man.

The fifth instalment of the Bersih rally is set to happen on 19 November:
