According to Sinar Harian, the old lady recognised the Chinese native as the woman had scammed her at the Puchong Indah morning market in July, and screamed “scammer!” when she spotted the woman.

The old lady’s screams alerted people at the market, leading to them apprehending the alleged scammer and tying her to one of the iron bars near the market.

The police were informed of the incident and apprehended the scammer at around 7.45am.

The old lady claims that the scammer had hypnotised her to give up her money and valuables worth approximately RM10,000

The old lady was approached by the scammer and two of her other accomplices back in July at the same market, as reported by The Star.

The old lady was told that her house was haunted and it needed to be 'cleansed'. The scammers followed her home and asked for her money and valuables like jewelry. She 'willingly' gave away five gold rings and five gold chains.

A day later, she was asked for more money for an 'exorcism' of her house.
