The passenger identified as Samual P. Jeyanthi, was brought to the Kasih Ibu Hospital in Bali after the flight landed at the Ngurah Rai Airport at around 2.10pm Friday, after it requested a diversion from its original Kuala Lumpur- Brisbane route, The Star reported
The pregnant woman who was on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH135 en route to Brisbane went into labour Friday, October 24, necessitating a forced landing in Bali so she could be rushed to hospital.
However according to The Sydney Morning Herald, by the time the woman reached Kasih Ibu Hospital, the baby had already been delivered and was deceased.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported head of medical services Diah Ratna Dewi as saying that when the woman arrived, the baby of around 24 weeks had already been delivered and was dead
"We estimate the baby was born 1 to 1.5 hours before we received her. According to the patient, there had been no problems with her pregnancy," she was quoted as saying. The doctor added that the woman was treated and picked up by her airline around 9pm.
