Police Say Man Who Jogged Naked In Shah Alam Previously Received Psychiatric Treatment
The 18-year-old has been handed over to his uncle for further psychiatric treatment.
An 18-year-old man seen jogging naked in Shah Alam yesterday, 8 April, has a history of mental health issues, according to police
Shah Alam district police chief ACP Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said the incident — which went viral after SEISMIK, the Malay-language segment of SAYS, first reported on the naked jogger at the Persiaran Kayangan junction in Section 8 — occurred at about 8.30am. Officers from the Section 6 police station were later dispatched to apprehend him.
"After persuading and calming him down, our personnel brought the [man] back to the Section 6 police station. He was then given clothing," Iqbal said in a statement last night, 8 April.
He added that the man could only communicate using hand signals and later wrote down his uncle's phone number
His uncle later arrived at the police station and informed officers that the man, who lives with him in Section 9, had previously received psychiatric treatment at Seberang Jaya Hospital in Penang.
The teenager was handed over to his uncle for further treatment at Shah Alam Hospital.
