PM Muhyiddin Yassin Announces Second Round Of Cash Aid For B40 And M40 Citizens
Dubbed the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional 2.0 (BPN 2.0), the cash aid is part of the 'Kita Prihatin' economic recovery package.

Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin just announced that B40 and M40 households will be receiving a second round of cash aid amid the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO)
New Straits Times reported that he announced the matter during a special address today, 23 September.
Dubbed the Bantuan Prihatin Nasional 2.0 (BPN 2.0), the cash aid is part of the 'Kita Prihatin' economic recovery package, aimed at helping Malaysians combat the economical challenges brought forward by the COVID-19 pandemic.
For the B40 category, households are set to receive RM1,000 while those who are single will receive RM500.
Meanwhile, M40 households will receive RM600 and those who are single will receive RM300.
During his speech, the Prime Minister noted that RM7 billion has been allocated for BPN 2.0 which will benefit 10.6 million recipients.
The payments will be made in two instalments with the first one in October and the second in January 2021.
Those who qualify do not need to re-apply for the cash aid as it uses the same database as the previous BPN incentive
Meanwhile, the government would allow those who did not qualify for the previous BPN aid to appeal and submit a new application.
