PETRONAS has expressed its deepest sympathies to all individuals and families affected by the gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya

In two statements, the company confirmed that a fire had occurred at a PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB) main pipeline at 8.10am on Tuesday, 1 April.

PETRONAS affirmed that the affected pipeline has been isolated, and it is working closely with the relevant authorities to ensure the safety of the surrounding community while maintaining the security of gas supply.

The company also said it is assessing the full impact of the explosion in collaboration with the authorities.

"Our utmost priorities as we recover from this tragic incident are ensuring the safety of people, fulfilling our commitment to assisting those impacted, and preserving security of gas supply whilst we investigate the cause of the incident," it said.

PETRONAS is also actively coordinating with the relevant ministries, as well as state and federal agencies, to ensure adequate relief efforts and assistance are provided to the affected families

"We are committed to working as closely as possible with these ministries and agencies so that timely and meaningful support can be effectively deployed during what must be a very difficult time for the families impacted," the company added.

Meanwhile, three PETRONAS stations near the incident site — PS Putra Heights, PS KM2 LDP, and PS Putra Bestari — have resumed operations after being temporarily closed as a precautionary measure

PETRONAS assured that these stations were not directly affected by the fire and were reopened after thorough safety assessments were completed.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to safety across all operations and will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

"In the meantime, PETRONAS appeals for patience and cooperation from all affected parties as efforts to manage and resolve the situation progress," it said.
