When travelling on the road, one of every motorist's worst nightmare is getting a flat tire.

It's an even bigger headache when that scenario happens in the middle of a heavy downpour.

Unluckily for one driver, that was the problem he faced when he was travelling along the North-South Expressway (NSE) on Sunday, 26 March.

Due to a punctured tire, the driver had to stop in the emergency lane and make a tire change in the pouring rain.

However, every cloud has a silver lining. According to the official Facebook page of the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, a couple of Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) traffic officers happened to be travelling along the same route.

Despite the unsavoury weather, both officers from the EMPV Senai JB Unit 17, KPL Firdaus Iskandar Shah Faisal and L/KPL Addany Omol pulled over to lend a helping hand

While changing the tire, the driver told the officers that he was driving from Segamat to Johor Bahru when the puncture happened.

PDRM went on to urge motorists to practise caution when travelling on the road and to prioritise personal safety.

Many netizens chimed in to praise the two officers for their concern and taking the initiative to help a member of the public

"How noble of the PDRM officers. Even though they are fasting, that didn't stop them from extending their help to those who are in need. Only God can repay them. There's no divide between society and the police," one netizen wrote.

"The best. The PDRM officers care for road users regardless of the situation. Congratulations to the two officers," another Facebook user praised.

"Congratulations. Hope [the officers] will continue being concerned for the troubles of road users and become an example to others," a netizen said.
