Closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of a man flashing his genitals at several women in a phone store has recently made its rounds on social media

According to Harian Metro, local police have confirmed that the incident took place around 2.30pm yesterday, 10 March, at a supermarket in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

A popular Facebook page dubbed Info Roadblock JPJ/POLIS posted the video and garnered over 474,300 views.

The one-minute clip shows the man walking into the store before chasing after three women working on the premises

While speaking to Harian Metro, one of the women involved said, "This time, what happened really made me and my two other colleagues, aged 23 and 25, feel traumatised because the man came into the store holding his private parts and charged at us."

"Without thinking further, the three of us climbed on the glass cabinet to save ourselves. I fell facedown but I brushed it off because I was scared," she added.

"Coincidentally, when it happened, there were not many people around so we had no choice to run and ask for help. Some men tried to stop him but they were scolded by him instead."

The victims lodged a report at the Kota Bharu Police Station nearby

Kota Bharu district police chief ACP Abdul Rahim Daud told the Malay daily, "Investigations found that the 26-year-old suspect suffers from depression and has sought treatment several times."

"The last time the suspect was detained and received treatment was 4 February and he had just been allowed to go home."

He added that the suspect has been apprehended and he was taken to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for further treatment. The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code.
