28-Year-Old Falls 10 Metres When Hiking Bukit Tabur Alone

A big operation is underway to bring down a 28-year-old female hiker who fell down a ravine at Bukit Tabur in Taman Melawati on Sunday.
It is learnt that Noor Hasmahani Hashim injured her back when she fell down a 10m slope near checkpoint 11 and landed on some tree branches.

"The victim was stuck on a tree some 10m below in the middle of the ravine. The rescuers then initiated works to extract her out of the ravine, before providing immediate medical attention," Ampang Fire and Rescue Station operations officer Kaha Abdul Halim told reporters when met at the entrance of Bukit Tabur's tracking trail yesterday.

Another female hiker who saw Noor Asmahani fall alerted the Fire and Rescue Department at about 10.30am.

"We received a call from another female hiker who witnessed the incident at 10.27am."

ACCORDING TO THE STAR, nearly 30 rescuers were mobilised to bring out Noor Hasmahani Hashim at 1.37am today.

ACCORDING TO NST, a team of 21 rescuers were assembled, before they started scaling the hill before they reached the victim's location at 1.10pm.

Ampang Fire and Rescue Station operations officer Kaha Abdul Halim said it took his men almost two hours to hike into the area where the incident took place.

"We had to make sure that she was safely carried up the ravine before we bring her out," said Ampang Fire and Rescue Station operations officer Kaha Abdul Halim.

From initial reports and witnesses' accounts, victim Noor Asmahani Hashim, 28, is believed to have suffered injuries on her back, hand and face. She was brought up at 1.45am and rushed to Ampang Hospital.
