Newborn Baby Found Alive After Being Stuffed Inside Bag On Top Of Mailboxes In Penang
The baby girl has been sent to the Penang Hospital for further examination.

On Sunday, 1 November, a baby girl was found alive on top of mailboxes near a flat in Paya Terubong, Penang
According to Astro Awani, the infant was wrapped in a towel and stuffed inside a backpack.
The 3.2kg baby was discovered and rescued by a resident around 12.40pm.
Police were informed of the baby after receiving a call from a man who had just returned from work
George Town district police chief ACP Soffian Santong told The Star that medical officers did not find any injuries on the baby but her umbilical cord was severed. Her name, age, and race are not known.
"The baby has been taken to the Penang Hospital for further examination and no documents were found inside the bag," he added.
The case is being investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code for child abandonment
ACP Soffian said the area where the baby was abandoned is not covered by closed-circuit television (CCTV) and no other witnesses have come forward yet.
As reported by Astro Awani, further investigations are being conducted to trace the dumpers as well as the mother who gave birth to the baby.
