New Law In Pahang Requires People Wanting To Do Business To Show Loyalty To Agong & Sultan
The law has been made compulsory and is effective immediately.

On Friday, 19 April, Pahang Menteri Besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail announced an additional condition for business licences and permits: To pledge allegiance to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the Sultan by showing unconditional respect and loyalty at all times
Failure to adhere to the requirement will result in the business permits and licences being revoked.

In a report by New Straits Times, MB Wan Rosdy said various quarters, including assemblymen, had expressed displeasure with irresponsible quarters who had insulted the Agong recently, prompting the Pahang executive council to approve the new ruling.
"When issuing business licences and permits, the local council and related agencies have to include a new approval requirement for them (business operators).
"They (business operators) have to respect and show loyalty to the Sultan of Pahang and the Yang di-Pertuan Agong," Wan Rosdy said in his winding-up speech at the state legislative assembly sitting at Wisma Sri Pahang, reported New Straits Times.
There was, however, no explanation given about the method authorities will use to gauge the business operators' loyalty towards the rulers prior to approving their licences and permits
Recently, Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah warned that insults against the royal institution should not occur in a constitutional monarchy.
Malay Mail reported that he also expressed concern over the attitude of “unscrupulous parties” who he said are challenging the sanctity of Islam in Malaysia.
