Najib Parts Ways With Two Of His Top Lawyers
One of the lawyers has also ceased from appearing for Datuk Seri Najib Razak's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

Two top lawyers in former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's legal team have resigned

Image via Bernama via The Borneo PostAccording to media reports, senior litigator M. Puravalen and former solicitor-general Datuk Mohd Yusof Zainal Abidin have parted ways with Najib in a joint decision.
When contacted by Malay Mail today, 5 June, Puravalen confirmed the matter saying, "Yes, mutually agreed. No further comments."
Puravalen was reportedly part of the seven-man legal team led by Yusof, who was engaged by Najib recently after his two previous lawyers resigned.
It was pointed out that both lawyers have 35 years of experience in the courtroom.
Puravalen has also withdrawn from representing Najib's wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor
"Yusof and I have ceased in representing Najib. I have also ceased from appearing for Rosmah," Puravalen said in a statement to Malaysiakini today.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has asked Rosmah to be present at its headquarters in Putrajaya today give a statement to the authorities over a corruption probe.
Both Rosmah and Najib have been called in by MACC to assist investigation into SRC International Sdn Bhd, a former subsidiary of 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB).
Puravalen and Yusof allegedly parted ways with Najib following their disagreement over several issues
A report by The Malaysian Insight stated that the lawyers felt it was "pointless" to continue representing Najib as they were unable to reach a common ground with their client.
Nevertheless, Puravalen told theSun that their (Puravalen and Yusof's) professional relationship with Najib was ended on mutual agreement and they remained on good terms with their former client.
