The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced that the wearing of face masks in enclosed spaces is now optional

According to New Straits Times, face masks are no longer mandatory indoors, except on public transportation and in healthcare facilities.

At a press conference today, 7 September, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the decision is effective immediately and was made based on the current COVID-19 climate in Malaysia

However, individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 or are symptomatic should still wear face masks.
