Suspiciously Surfaced Videos Show Missing M'sian Woman In Thailand Claiming She's "Safe"
Her mother said she does not believe the videos and will not rest until she sees her daughter with her own eyes.

A Malaysian woman, who was reported missing in Chiang Rai, Thailand since 1 June, has suspiciously surfaced in videos yesterday, 7 June, claiming that she is "safe and healthy"
Angie Chong Sum Yee, who is 22 years old, had flown into Chiang Mai last Monday, 29 May, alone.
The last time her family heard from her was last Thursday, 1 June, when she last sent them photos of herself travelling 250km to the northernmost district of Mae Sai in Chiang Rai province. The area had cases of human trafficking in the past.
Her mother, Chee Choy Wen, had put up a public Facebook post to ask for the public's help to find her. Since then, Thai authorities, including the immigration and tourist police, have launched a search for the missing Malaysian.
However, amidst the urgent search for Chong, three videos suspiciously appeared on Facebook yesterday.
According to Sin Chew Daily, the videos were uploaded by a new Facebook account that goes by the name "Moe Aye".
Of the three videos, two of them were taken by a camera filming a phone that was playing videos of Chong, leading netizens to wonder why "Moe Aye" did not upload the videos directly to Facebook.
After the videos surfaced, many netizens claimed that Chong looks unnatural in the videos, as if she is forced to film the videos of herself in duress
In a 34-second video, she can be seen seated with a bowl of food in front of her.
"Hello, hello. Actually, I am fine," she begins in the video.
"I am very safe and healthy. I didn't get assaulted. So, my friends, family, and netizens, those who I don't know, please don't worry about me. I am very, very healthy," she speaks with a vibrant smile.
In another 23-second video, she claims that she is working at an undisclosed location.
"I am working here now and I am safe. Please don't worry about me. I am extremely safe here. So, police, please don't trouble the rider who gave me a ride. They don't know anything," she says in the video, where the reflections on her glasses show a lit-up monitor.
Many netizens suspected that she was reading a script while filming herself, as her eyeballs were gliding from left to right while looking beyond the camera in the footage.
The third video shows her giving a peace sign to the camera in a store-like setting.

"Not until I see her in person, in my heart, I still don't know what happened. I'll get to the bottom of this," a distressed Chee said on Facebook yesterday.
She also told members of the public not to believe the videos.
Sin Chew Daily reported that Chee had flown to Thailand to find her daughter with the help of a Malaysian politician.
