MILO Malaysia's Ramadan Contest With RM2,000 Prize Money Is Fake, Says Nestlé
Several victims had RM10 deducted from their bank accounts at multiple intervals in recent weeks.
Nestlé Malaysia has issued a warning to the public about a fraudulent MILO Ramadan contest that falsely claims participants can win a RM2,000 cash prize
In a statement yesterday, 10 March, the parent company of MILO Malaysia said it is aware of the scam, which requires participants to complete a questionnaire before claiming their prize.
According to BFM, several victims had RM10 deducted from their bank accounts at multiple intervals in recent weeks.
"Please be informed that this is a scam, which aims to mislead the public. Nestlé views this matter seriously and has reported it to the relevant authorities," it said.
The company also urged the public to refrain from sharing the contest, providing any personal details, or making any payments.
In 2023, Nestlé Malaysia issued a similar warning over a scam with an identical modus operandi
A screenshot of the fraudulent questionnaire from 2023 reads, "Congratulations, MILO Malaysia Ramadan gift. Through the questionnaire, you will have a chance to get 2000 Ringgit."
A viral post from two years ago details how a victim reportedly lost about RM100 to "Facebook ads" after submitting their personal details via the questionnaire they received on WhatsApp.
