Contact Tracing Has Begun After Mid Valley & The Gardens Mall Confirm A COVID-19 Case

Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall in Kuala Lumpur have confirmed a COVID-19 case involving a staff working under a company that operates three cosmetic outlets in the malls

In a statement on Facebook, both malls confirmed that the COVID-19 positive individual is an employee of London Sales Cosmetics Sdn Bhd (LSC), a company that runs Origani and Élévatione Time Stops in The Garden Malls, as well as Élévatione Time Stops in Mid Valley Megamall.

"The employee informed her management at LSC on 9 October 2020 that one of her family members was exposed to the virus. She immediately isolated herself through self-quarantine and arrangements were made for her to take the COVID-19 test which was confirmed positive on 10 October 2020," the statement read.

"She did not exhibit any symptoms of COVID-19. The Gardens Mall and Mid Valley Megamall and managements were informed of the positive test result on 11 October 2020."

After learning of the case, the malls notified the Ministry of Health (MOH), and the process of contact tracing has begun

The malls said they are currently working on sanitising and disinfecting all three outlets under LSC, as well as common areas in both malls.

"The three outlets were closed immediately and will remain so until further notice," the malls said.

"We have implemented precautionary measures to maintain high levels of cleanliness and hygiene as recommended by the government at both malls to ensure everyone’s health and safety." 

"We will continue to monitor the situation closely together with the authorities and will provide updates as necessary."

Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens Mall urge members of the public to always wear a face mask, wash hands thoroughly with soap, and practise physical distancing, as per outlined by the MOH.
