Ad About M'sians In S'pore Separated From Families During Ramadan Leaves Netizens In Tears
The fast-food company's television commercial has left netizens in tears.

On Friday, McDonald's Singapore released a commercial that 'reunites' Malaysian Muslims who are working over there and cannot cross the border to celebrate Ramadan with their loved ones in Malaysia
The commercial begins with Samsuri, a Malaysian Muslim who has been stuck in Singapore for over a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is working as a McDonald's delivery rider.
Samsuri explains how this year's Ramadan is very different for him as he will be celebrating it alone since all his family members, that includes seven siblings, a wife, and a daughter, are in Malaysia.
According to him, he was supposed to be in Singapore for only two weeks.
Samsuri shares that he has close friends with him there who, too, are in the same situation as him.
The video also features a couple of other Malaysians, Rozaini and Anas, both of whom are working in Singapore for longer than Samsuri
Rozaini shares that if she could go back to Malaysia, she would just want to hug her family.
"Three months here feels like I haven't seen them in three years," she says with a lump in her throat before explaining that she has to push through because her responsibility to earn for her family is more important.

The seamless digital transition makes it look like they are all sitting across a single large table in the same room. McDonald's Singapore calls it My Happy Table.
The realness of the scene makes everyone in the video tearfully joyous.
On McDonald's Singapore's Instagram page, where the video was uploaded on 16 April, netizens have flooded it with comments
At the time of this writing, the video has gone viral with over 440,000 views.
Among the close to 700 comments, most of the netizens who commented were sympathetic towards the separated families and expressed how the video make them all emotional and cry.
