A man in Kuala Lumpur decided to walk all the way from Universiti Malaya (UM) to his home in Lembah Keramat after finding out that LRT train services were disrupted

TikTok user @adameji7 shared his journey on the social media platform, saying that he walked a total of 26km to get home on Tuesday, 8 November.

At the start of his video, Adam said he had already walked about 2km from the university to the Kerinchi LRT station, and was aiming to walk to KL Sentral, another 4km away.

"I just took it as cardio, guys. Isn't this what Malaysia wants? Stay fit, stay active," he joked in the video, while showing himself walking through the rain and traffic.

At KL Sentral, he decided to take the monorail to Dang Wangi, and was walking to Suria KLCC when it started to rain heavily

"It was raining heavily, guys. At that point, I just wanted to cry," he said in a voiceover.

Unfortunately, although Rapid KL had already announced the disruptions from Kelana Jaya station to KLCC station that evening, Adam learnt first-hand that the trains were also not operating from KLCC to Ampang Park station, where he was heading.

So, he got out of the mall and boarded a bus that dropped him off at Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur, where he continued to walk in the rain to the nearest LRT station he could find, Jelatek, and finally boarded the train there for the rest of the way home.

"I still had to pay for my fare home... I thought it'd be free," he added.

The video started when the sun was still up and ended when the sky turned dark, with his clothes fully drenched.

Adam, a full-time student at UM, told SAYS that it took him almost four hours to get home after his classes ended at 5pm that day

"I go to class by LRT and bus, so when Rapid KL announced that they are closing down the LRT, I was a bit frustrated. However, I was determined that I could find my way around. After all, I am a KL-ite," the optimistic student said.

When asked how he would get around for the rest of the week due to the continued LRT station closures, Adam said he may brave traffic congestion and drive or take the free replacement feeder buses to get to classes.

"I just hope that they can resolve the matter as soon as possible. There are others who rely on these trains every day to go to work, class, or school, and e-hailing can be very expensive."

The video has since garnered over 380,000 views, with netizens astounded by the fact that the 24-year-old travelled across Kuala Lumpur by foot

"[Walking from] Kerinchi to UM is no issue, that's normal. [But walking] from Kerinchi to KL Sentral? That's exceptional, dik. Remember to be careful, the pedestrian walkways are not very safe," a TikTok user cautioned, but wished him well.

"How many times did you curse, bang?" a netizen teasingly asked, to which Adam replied he tried to remain positive.

"Haha, thank you for bringing me for a walk as well. [Watching your video] is enough exercise for me today," another joked.

Meanwhile, another Malaysian affected by the LRT disruption said, "I also felt like crying when going home yesterday. It was so tiring just to get back home. So sad."
