He was run over by an 18-wheeler Isuzu trailer truck.
A 55-year-old man who recently won the lottery was killed in a road accident involving a trailer truck in Chonburi Province in eastern Thailand on Sunday, 6 April
The incident occurred around 4.30pm near the motorway in Nong Khang Khok, Mueang Chonburi district. Police and rescue workers from the Trai Khunnatham Foundation responded to the scene.
The victim, identified as Praphan from Ubon Ratchathani, was found dead at the site.
He had reportedly been run over by an 18-wheeler Isuzu trailer truck. A blue-grey Honda Wave motorcycle, believed to belong to the victim, was found nearby, reported Khaosod.
Inside his bag, police found two lottery tickets from the 16 March draw
The tickets, numbered 807232, matched the last two digits of the winning number, 32, entitling him to a prize of 1,000 baht per ticket. The total winnings of 2,000 baht (approximately RM261) had not yet been claimed.
The trailer driver, a 50-year-old man identified as Suphachok, told police he had been driving normally and did not see the motorcycle. He claimed he only realised something was wrong after hearing a sound and stopping to check his vehicle.
Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to determine the sequence of events.
