Man Hired To Peel Coconuts Nabbed For Attempted Rape Of Employer's 9-Year-Old Daughter

A man has been arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a 9-year-old girl in Kampung Tanjung Batu Darat in Tawau, Sabah
Tawau deputy district police chief Supt Champin Piuh said the arrest was made following a report lodged by the victim's mother at about 11.15am yesterday, 8 April.
In her report, the mother claimed that her daughter was sexually harassed by the suspect.
The woman had hired the 31-year-old foreign national to peel coconuts
"The incident occurred when the victim was alone at home after her mother had gone out to drop off her two sons at a secondary school. The suspect pretended to call the victim through the kitchen door, and as soon as the victim opened it, he rushed in and asked her to take off her school uniform.
"The shocked victim fled and sought help from a neighbour," he said.
Champin said the suspect was caught by members of the public.
The case is being investigated under Section 15(a)(2) of the Child Sexual Offences Act.
