A TikTok user has touched the hearts of many with his emotional farewell to Gendut, a stray dog who became his loyal companion over the years in his hometown
The TikTok user, @nakgemoksikit, shared that he has taken care of Gendut since the dog was a puppy.
Whenever he returned to his hometown, Gendut would greet him with a wagging tail and lead him back home.
The user said Gendut loves playing and racing with him on the village roads.
However, as his family is preparing to move to an urban area, he is faced with the heartbreaking reality of leaving Gendut behind
"Sorry, Gendut. We have to move. Take care of yourself, and thank you for watching over the farm and house all this time," he wrote in the emotional post.
The video, which has amassed over 390,000 views and 39,000 likes, deeply touched many netizens, who also expressed concern about Gendut's future.
However, @nakgemoksikit assured people that Gendut would be in good hands
"We cared for Gendut because my mother, who was a farmer, needed help looking after the farm.
"Now that we're moving to the city and no longer tending to a farm, we can't bring Gendut with us, but our former neighbours will take care of him," he explained in a follow-up video.
