Malindo Air Has A New Name

Malindo Air will soon be known as Batik Air
Batik Air will be replacing Malindo Air "in the second half of this year", the airline's CEO Chandran Rama Muthy has revealed.
Why the change of name?
The purpose of the rebranding was for Batik Air to attune it more towards Indonesia’s Lion Air group's dynamic as a new means of organisation and also to improve customers' flight experiences.
Batik Air Malaysia will be in charge of international routes while Batik Indonesia Air will be left to concentrate on regional routes. Chandran claims, "We, Malindo Air (Batik Air Malaysia) will be the international link within the Lion Air group while the existing Batik Air Indonesia will continue to serve the Indonesian market and it is a full service carrier."
Will Batik Air be different from Malindo Air?
The operation flow for Batik Air will remain the same as how Malindo Air currently operates.
CEO Chandran believes, “We will promote Batik Air Malaysia brand across the 16 countries we operate in, and this will be a boost to our country, heritage and culture.’’
The Lion Air Group owns Lion Air, Wings Air, Batik Air (Indonesia), Lion Bizjet, Malaysia’s Malindo Air, and Thailand’s Thai Lion Air.

Malindo Air flies to 40 local and international routes from Subang Airport and KLIA
Malindo Air first opened their doors to East Malaysia - Sabah and Sarawak back in March 2013. Overtime, they have expanded their aerial horizons, reaching up to 16 countries.
