A 23-year-old woman was trolled online for the dense hair growth on her forehead, with people telling her to not wear a headscarf

This happened after the woman, Nur Shafiqah Mohd Sukri, uploaded a video of herself on TikTok.

However, instead of being disheartened, Nur Shafiqah responded to people trying to make her feel ashamed of herself with grace and self-assurance, embracing her uniqueness, reported Harian Metro.

Nur Shafiqah told Harian Metro that the unusual tuft of hair on her forehead had been present since birth and grown naturally over the years. And while she has faced disapproving glances from some individuals, she remains unfazed by the judgmental attitudes surrounding her appearance.

"I am comfortable just the way I am, and I have never considered altering my appearance," Nur Shafiqah said confidently

"Alhamdulillah, I am grateful that my husband accepted me as I am from the beginning, and my in-laws have also been supportive. So, it has never been a problem within my family," she expressed.

Nur Shafiqah said she and her youngest sibling are the only ones born with this unique trait among her six siblings, adding that she has never sought medical advice for her condition.

"Since I was young, I never went to see a specialist, so I don't know the reason behind it," she said.

She admitted that some individuals often look at her with disdain

"I am not bothered by it, and I confidently go out in public. However, every time I go somewhere, there are always a few people who stare in a judgmental way," Nur Shafiqah said, adding, "Perhaps they have never seen someone like me, but I have grown accustomed to them, and I don't feel offended or disheartened."

While some on the Internet criticised Nur Shafiqah's appearance, others commended her for her self-assurance and positive response to the negativity, reported the Malay daily.

"I believe that my physical appearance does not define me, and I won't let the opinions of others affect my self-esteem," she asserted, while emphasising that people's lack of exposure to diversity is not her problem.
