Former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi has died at the age of 85
His son-in-law and former health minister Khairy Jamaluddin shared the news in an Instagram Story at around 7.23pm today, 14 April.
Abdullah served as Malaysia's fifth prime minister from 2003 to 2009, succeeding Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He was affectionately known to the rakyat as Pak Lah, and earned the title of the Father of Human Capital Development.
In recent years, Abdullah suffered from dementia and could no longer remember the names of his wife and family members, reported FMT.
