Take note, Malaysia Airlines and AirAsia have updated their name entry rules for flight bookings to better align with Malaysian passport formats

According to BFM News, the update aims to address check-in issues, especially for travellers with unique names in Malaysian passports.

Malaysia Airlines confirmed that existing bookings will not be affected by these changes.

Malaysia Airlines now clearly stipulates how to fill in the 'First & Middle Name' and 'Last Name/Surname' fields

Notably, passengers with 'bin', 'binti', or 'anak' in their names must now enter these into the 'Last Name/Surname' field.
