Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is currently in Japan on his first work trip since his Pakatan Harapan coalition came into power last month

He arrived at Haneda International Airport in Tokyo at about 4.55pm on Sunday, 10 June.

Between a dinner meeting with Malaysians living in the island nation and a scheduled appointment with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe later today, the 92-year-old premier also took time to explore the bustling Tokyo city

While taking a stroll in a shopping centre, he chanced upon a stall operator selling various accessories including clothes hangers.

Seizing the chance to impress him, the enthusiastic salesman began showcasing and demonstrating the clothes hangers in a comical fashion.

All of that was captured on video and uploaded to Tun Dr Mahathir's Facebook page. The clip has gone viral with over one million views and 16,000 shares.

Tun Dr Mahathir and his friends were seen grinning and nodding their heads as the energetic stall operator delivered his sales pitch

It is unclear if Tun Dr Mahathir bought something from the man. But he was genuinely impressed.

"I am impressed by the commitment and the pride of the Japanese, no matter what type of work they do. These are the values we should emulate," the description of the Facebook reads.

Many netizens concurred with Tun Dr Mahathir's sentiments, applauding the Japanese for their mannerisms and work ethic
