Lone Bank Robber Murders Security Guard & Injures Another During A Heist In Puchong Prima

On Friday evening, 11 March, security guards on a cash collection round at a bank in Puchong Prima were ambushed by a lone robber
The armed robber single-handedly carried out the heist, reported New Straits Times.
The robber shot dead one of the security guards in front of the bank and injured another.
They were guarding a company van for cash collection.
He then made his escape after getting hold of one of the money bags.
Four security firm guards were assigned to collect cash from banks
Prior to the robbery, two of them went inside a bank while one guard and the van driver were outside.
"The suspect is said to have coolly approached the security van, then whipped out a gun and fired at the two guards," according to a source quoted by New Straits Times.
Meanwhile, the van driver, despite being in a state of panic, carried one of the injured guards into the van and drove until they reached Puchong Perdana but the victim succumbed to his injuries soon after.
The other guard who was shot in the ribs was brought to the hospital for further treatment.
Soon after the robbery, the suspect was arrested at 6.10pm
Police nabbed the suspect in front of the Seksyen 20 Maybank.
"A pistol, several bullets, and some sum of the suspected stolen cash were seized as well," Subang Jaya district police chief ACP Abd Khalid Othman was quoted as saying by The Star today, 12 March.
"With the arrest of the suspect we believe we have solved several robberies within the Shah Alam and Subang Jaya area," he said, adding that the suspect has been remanded for seven days.
