Local Restaurants Include Slips With Temperature Checks In Food Delivery

Each note includes the name of the person who cooks, prepares, packs, and/or delivers the meal.

Several local restaurants have been taking extra measures to ease the worries of their customers during this pandemic

Aside from sanitising their premises and practising good hygiene, Ho Min San and La Juiceria Group (La Juiceria Superfoods Cafes, Super Saigon Cafes, and Hawker Hall Café) have been recording down each food handler's name along with their body temperatures.

The restaurants go the extra mile by including the note for customers during each delivery or takeaway order.

Not only does it allow customers to have peace of mind when they receive their orders, but this extra step also means that food preparation and delivery processes can be traced back to guarantee food safety during this time.

With social distancing as the "new norm", other restaurants have also been taking precautionary steps to protect their customers

myBurgerLab recently explained that it is sticking to takeaway and deliveries for the time being and is taking customers' orders outside of their premises due to a study suggesting that air-conditioning in a restaurant had helped spread the virus among three different families.

A recent photo has also been making its rounds on social media showing how a KFC branch implemented social distancing for its customers by spreading tables out and allowing one customer per table.

As of 4 May, the Prime Minister of Malaysia announced that restaurants may open for dine-in with additional health and safety requirements

Restaurant owners must rearrange their tables with a minimum distance of two metres between tables. A notice should also indicate the maximum number of customers allowed per table.

According to New Straits Times, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin advised that a small table should allow only one or two people to sit at, while a big table should allow three to four diners.
