Loan Shark Caught On Video Firebombing Woman's Home In Kepong Baru
The video came with a chilling warning: if she failed to repay her debts, the perpetrators would return daily to harass her.
A woman in Kepong Baru was left fearing for her life after a petrol bomb was thrown at her former rental home in what is believed to be a targeted act of harassment by a Singapore-based loan shark syndicate
According to Kepong member of parliament (MP) Lim Lip Eng, who issued a statement on his Facebook account today, 14 April, the victim received a video of the attack shortly after it happened.
The video, allegedly recorded by the assailant, came with a chilling warning — if she failed to repay her debts, the perpetrators would return daily to harass her.
The attack was reportedly carried out by the syndicate's local runner
"The victim has lodged a police report, and I urge the police to take swift and decisive action. This is not merely a threat, it is a serious crime that endangers public safety and undermines the rule of law," said Lim.
He stressed that KL must not be allowed to become "a playground for gangsters or cross-border loan shark syndicates", and called on the authorities to bring those responsible to justice without delay.
As of now, there has been no official statement from the police.
