It's Official: Latheefa Has Resigned As MACC Chief Commissioner
She will now return to her practice as a human rights advocate.

Latheefa Koya has resigned as the Chief Commissioner of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Agency (MACC) following the change of government
According to a report in Free Malaysia Today (FMT), Latheefa's decision to quit her post was conveyed in a letter to newly-appointed Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin on 2 March.
"It is business as usual at MACC, in the capable hands of my officers," FMT quoted her as saying today.
Separately, the news about her resignation was also confirmed by Bernama this morning.
While dismissing claims that her resignation was due to pressure, Latheefa said that it was completely her decision to do so
FMT said that she met with Prime Minister Muhyiddin on Thursday, where she briefed him about the agency's ongoing actions and efforts for the recovery of stolen 1MDB monies from abroad.
"He was fully supportive of these actions," Latheefa said, adding that her resignation is subject to approval by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
She said that she explained her decision to resign to PM Muhyiddin
"I am leaving my position with the fullest confidence that the MACC will continue to be uncompromising and tireless in the fight against corruption, irrespective of the position or political allegiance of the perpetrators," she said in a statement, as reported by The Star.
"I thank the former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir, my colleagues in the MACC and the Rakyat for all the support I have received during my tenure as Chief Commissioner."
She added that she will now return to her practice as a human rights advocate.
Latheefa was appointed as the 14th MACC chief for two years effective 1 June 2019 to 31 May 2021.
