Lamborghini Driver Arrested After Driving Into Pedestrian Crossing The Street In Kuching

A foreign construction worker was killed after being hit by a Lamborghini Aventador on Jalan Lapangan Terbang in Kuching, Sarawak, on Tuesday, 27 May
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu confirmed the fatal crash in a statement, saying the collision occurred at around 6.50pm and involved a supercar that was allegedly speeding.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that the 52-year-old victim, employed at the Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) project site, was attempting to cross the road when the car struck him
"The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics due to severe head injuries. His body was later taken to Sarawak General Hospital for a post-mortem," said Alexson.
He also reminded drivers to drive responsibly and obey traffic laws to avoid incidents.
The 54-year-old driver, a local man who was driving the high-end sports car towards Padungan, has been taken into custody for further investigation
He is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
This specific offence pertains to causing death by reckless or dangerous driving, which, upon conviction, carries a penalty of up to 10 years' imprisonment and/or a fine not exceeding RM50,000.
