Ismail Sabri: Several Localities In KL & Selangor To Undergo EMCO From 3 July
All residents in EMCO areas will not be allowed to leave their homes, except to buy necessities.

Several localities in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor will be placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) beginning Saturday, 3 July
In a statement today, 1 July, Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said they will be placed under the EMCO until 16 July.
The decision was made by the National Security Council (MKN) after a discussion involving various agencies and a risk assessment by the Ministry of Health (MOH).
With the implementation of the EMCO, all roads in the areas affected will be closed and guarded by the police, he said
All residents in EMCO areas will also not be allowed to leave their homes, except for one person from each home when buying basic necessities.
Individuals may not travel beyond 10km of their homes or be outside of their homes past 8pm.
All eateries, grocery stores, and pharmacies are only allowed to open from 8am to 8pm.
Operations, as well as movement in and out of EMCO areas, are restricted to only essential services and for vaccination purposes.
Ismail Sabri reminded that employers must adhere to the EMCO and allow their staff living in the affected localities to work from home.
Meanwhile, only factories producing food and daily essentials like rice, bread, sugar, cooking oil, flour, fresh milk, medicine, and face masks are allowed to operate.
MOH will also be carrying out targeted COVID-19 screening on residents of the affected areas.
Here are the affected areas:
Petaling: Petaling, Damansara, Sungai Buloh, and Bukit Raja.
Hulu Langat: Hulu Langat, Ampang, Cheras, Kajang, Semenyih, and Beranang.
Sepang: Dengkil, Labu, and Sepang.
Gombak: Batu, Rawang, Setapak, Hulu Kelang, and Kuang.
Kuala Langat: Tanjung 12 (1) and (2), Teluk Panglima Garang, Morib, Bandar, Jugra, and Batu.
Klang: Kapar and Klang.
Kuala Selangor: Ijok, Bestari Jaya, and Jeram.
Hulu Selangor: Serendah, Rasa, Ulu Yam, and Batang Kali.
Kuala Lumpur: PPR Sri Semarak, PPR Batu Muda, Flat Seksyen 1 and 2 Wangsa Maju, Kampung Padang Balang, Taman Koperasi Polis (Phases 1 and 2), Flat Sri Sabah, Kampung Puah, PPR Kg Baru Air Panas, Flat Desa Pandan (including Baiduri and Delima), Kg Batu Muda, PPR Kerinchi, Bandar Baru Sentul, and Taman Ikan Emas.
Ismail Sabri said such a move is needed given the rise in COVID-19 cases, especially in the Klang Valley
"Selangor recorded an average of 1,800 to 1,900 cases daily, while Kuala Lumpur has between 600 to 1,000 cases daily," he said, adding that it is a worrying situation.
Malaysia confirmed 6,988 new COVID-19 cases today, the third consecutive day of over 6,000 cases.
