KL High Court Orders Najib To Pay RM1.69 Billion In Taxes To The Govt
The former prime minister was also ordered to pay RM15,000 in costs to LDHN.

Former prime minister Najib Razak will have to pay RM1.69 billion in taxes to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN), according to a summary judgement carried out by the Kuala Lumpur High Court today, 22 July
Najib will have to pay the amount to the government, through LDHN, which succeeded in its bid for summary judgement in a suit to recover RM1.69 billion tax in additional taxes.
High Court Judge Justice Ahmad Bache read out his summary judgement ordering Najib to pay the amount to LHDN and also awarded RM15,000 in costs to the tax department.
What's a summary judgement?
It's a judgement entered by a court for one party and against another party without a full trial.

His tax bill is for the income he didn't declare between 2011 and 2017
The Malaysian government, under the previous Pakatan Harapan administration, had filed the lawsuit against Najib in June last year, naming him as the sole defendant.
The government was seeking Najib to pay RM1,692,872,924.83, interest at 5% a year from the date of judgement, as well as costs and other relief deemed fit by the court.
