The café provides hearty meals consisting of a variety of Ramadan classic dishes with a dash of kindness

Last Saturday, 17 April, visitors were served nasi daging, ayam panggang, and kuih for iftar.

It is understood from their Facebook page that the dishes served may vary according to resources and the volunteers available at the café.

On its Facebook page, the NGO described itself as "an organization founded upon the powerful belief in kindness and dedicated to providing resources and tools that encourage acts of kindness".

"Now, they can eat out by coming to this Kindness Kitchen Café. They can eat for free," said the Kindness Malaysia chairman

Mohd Azrul Mohd Razak — the chairman of the NGO — said that the goal of the café is to welcome the poor and needy, as well as the homeless, orphans, and persons with disabilities who often have too little to eat.

Speaking to Bernama, Azrul said the café was created after a survey found that low income individuals and those from large families tend to rarely or never eat out.

"For this Ramadan, we only operate on Saturday from 7pm to 9pm due to shortage," said Azrul

The chairman added that the café has some 25 volunteers working on rotation including cooking meals and serving guests.

He also urges more volunteers to come forward to help with various projects carried out by Kindness Malaysia in Kedah.
