Sweet Kindergarten Guard Cheers Up Worried Girl With A Waltz While Waiting For Her Mum
The girl was upset because her mother was late in fetching her from the kindergarten.
A kindergarten security guard in eastern China has captured hearts across the country after waltzing with a tearful little girl, comforting her as she waited for her late-arriving mother
Liu Jie, 52, was filmed gracefully twirling the young student, affectionately nicknamed Little Peach, outside the school in Shandong province.
According to the South China Morning Post, the clip was widely shared on social media, drawing admiration from over five million viewers.
"I just wanted her to go home happy, so her mother wouldn’t feel guilty," Liu explained in the now-viral video
While many were impressed by his smooth moves, Liu's background in dance made the moment all the more special.
Before becoming a kindergarten guard, he studied classical and folk dance in college and performed professionally as part of a song and dance ensemble in the early '90s.
However, in 2002, he pivoted to business during China’s economic boom, eventually settling in Guangdong.
In 2017, Liu returned to his hometown to care for his ageing parents and took the security job at the kindergarten, motivated by his love for children and desire to stay active
Beloved by the students, Liu not only greets them daily but also assists in dance classes.
Many children express their affection by sneaking into his office to chat or offering him their snacks.
One child even reassured him, saying she'd always be there if he ever felt lonely.
Online, viewers praised his kindness and elegance
"An interesting soul shines anywhere, no matter the job," one commenter wrote.
Another added, "An elegant man and a giggling child — what a beautiful moment."
For Liu, the job is more than just work — it's a source of joy.
"If you treat children with sincerity, they return it in kind," he said.
