Kenya's Police Department Welcomes 30 Proton X70s Into Their Fleet
The X70 is Proton's first sport utility vehicle (SUV), and was launched at the end of 2018.

Proton Kenya announced on its Facebook page that it has officially handed over 30 brand new Proton X70 units to the Kenya Police Service
In a post last Friday, 19 November, Proton Kenya said, "The Proton X70 will bring supreme style, superb stability, and comfort for the National Police Service as they execute their mandate."
The page shared a series of photos of the handover ceremony, and the 30 sport utility vehicles (SUVs) are in shades of blue and green, all of which bear a 'GKB' number plate.
At the time of writing, the post has garnered over 840 likes and 580 shares
Hundreds of netizens congratulated the Kenya Police Service for the new addition to their fleet.
"Congratulations to the Kenyan Police force. May the new Proton X70 increase the service efficiency to the community," commented a Facebook user.
"Wow, we don't have that colours in Malaysia's X70. This is special. All the best to Kenya police with the Proton X70," said a netizen.
"Congratulations, Kenya police! Nice car you have there," cheered another person.
Meanwhile, Muar member of Parliament (MP) Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman celebrated Proton's new milestone in a Facebook post, saying it is a great choice for the Kenya police as it is fashionable, comfortable, and affordable.
The X70 is Proton's first SUV, and was launched at the end of 2018.
Between 2019 and 2020, the model sold over 48,000 units.
According to Kosmo, the X70 model is exported to several foreign countries, such as Brunei, Indonesia, and Pakistan. Kenya is Proton's latest market.
In August 2020, Proton sent its first batch of cars to the republic, reported The Malaysian Reserve.
Simba Corp is the sole authorised distributor of Proton cars in Kenya. Vehicles sent to the country are in completely knocked down (CKD) conditions and Simba Corp assembles the units locally.
Not only does the arrangement attract lower taxes, but it can also spur development in Kenya's automotive manufacturing industry.
