Authorities have seized a Lamborghini Aventador, worth RM2,270,000, driven by a content creator from China who was caught driving without a licence during an operation in Bangsar last night, 8 April
The man was travelling with his girlfriend after visiting a fast-food restaurant in Kepong and was en route to Damansara Heights when he was stopped by the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
City JPJ director Hamidi Adam said the Lamborghini was among 27 vehicles seized during the operation, which also included 24 motorcycles and two goods vehicles.
"As such, the vehicle will be seized and taken to the JPJ office in Wangsa Maju for further action," he told reporters, as quoted by the New Straits Times.
In total, 1,627 vehicles were inspected during the operation
JPJ issued 463 notices for various offences, including driving without a licence, lacking a vocational licence, expired road tax, lack of insurance coverage, and illegal vehicle modifications.
Owners of modified vehicles were given notices and instructed to restore their vehicles to their original condition within 10 days before presenting them for inspection.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with multiple enforcement agencies. The Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department (TEID) inspected 60 vehicles and issued 30 summonses.
The Immigration Department screened 29 foreigners and detained three individuals — one man and two women — for immigration-related offences.
Separately, the National Anti-Drugs Agency (NADA) screened 37 individuals, comprising 31 men and six women, and arrested three people for cannabis-related offences.
