The Princess Of Johor Is Getting Married To This Former Semi-Professional Footballer

She is the only daughter among the six children of Johor Sultan.

Tunku Aminah Maimunah, the Johor princess, and Dennis Muhammad Abdullah, a former semi-professional footballer, are getting married this 14 August, Johor Royal Council said

Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Permaisuri Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idris Shah have consented and given their blessings to the wedding

"His Royal Highness has consented for the state Mufti Datuk Muhammad Tahrir Shamsudin to conduct the ceremony as his official representative," the state Royal Council president Datuk Abdul Rahim Ramli was quoted saying by AsiaOne.

He added that the betrothal ceremony would be held at 10am on 14 August at Istana Bukit Serene followed by the solemnisation ceremony, and he bersanding ceremony will be held at 8pm on the same day at the throne room of the Istana Besar.

Tunku Aminah's soon-to-be husband was born as Dennis Verbaas. He, however, embraced Islam on 31 May 2015, and changed his name to Dennis Muhammad Abdullah.

Dannis Muhammad, a Dutchman, who has played semi-professional football before, is currently the marketing manager for Tampines Rovers Football Club in Singapore

Meanwhile, Tunku Aminah, born on 8 April 1986, is the only daughter among the six children of Johor ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar and Raja Zarith Sofiah

Tunku Aminah has studied in LaSalle College’s International School of Fashion, Arts and Design. She was bestowed with the title 'Tun' by Sultan Ibrahim in 2012.

She engages in sporting activities such as horseback riding, jogging and hiking, and was elected President of Football Club JDT (JDT) in 2016.

Tunku Aminah has also been involved with charity work

She has assisted victims and was deputy president of the Girl Guides Association of Malaysia Johor branch. She is also the patron for Johor Bahru International Festival City and Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals in Johor Bahru.
