Johor Crown Prince Prays For The Country To Be Safe From "Greedy And Power-Crazy" People

He also hailed the role of the monarchy in providing "checks and balances".

In a Facebook post today, 25 October, Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim said that he is praying for the country's stability

His post comes amidst a special meeting of the Malay Rulers at Istana Negara, where Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah is discussing with the Conference of Rulers on proposals submitted by Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to the King on Friday, 24 October.

The Johor Crown Prince was addressing the current situation in the country with regards to speculations that the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government is seeking to declare what the mainstream media and experts have described "economic, health, or political emergency".

"The current situation is a clear indication of what would happen when power to rule is left entirely to politicians only. In today's scenario, the most important thing should be prioritising the people's welfare and ensuring the economy continues to recover efficiently," Tunku Ismail said.

Tunku Ismail said that he hopes Allah blesses the Malay Rulers with wisdom to ensure the country's stability and protect from "threats of those who are greedy and power-crazy" for their personal interests

He highlighted the importance of the monarchy in terms of providing "checks and balances".
