Johor Announces Special Public Holiday On 28 April As JDT Enters Malaysia Cup Final
The Johor Southern Tigers will be playing against Sri Pahang FC this Saturday, 26 April.
The Johor government has declared Monday, 28 April, a public holiday to celebrate Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) success in reaching the Malaysia Cup final
According to Berita Harian, Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the public holiday is to show support and appreciation for the football team's outstanding achievement.
"Congratulations to JDT for advancing to the 2024-2025 Malaysia Cup final against Sri Pahang this Saturday, 26 April.
"In accordance with the decree of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, the Johor State Government has decided to declare Monday, 28 April 2025, as a public holiday for all Johor citizens," he said.
He also expressed his gratitude to Tunku Ismail for his vision and efforts in transforming JDT into a prestigious football club, respected not only in Malaysia, but across Asia.
Onn Hafiz added that the Johor Southern Tigers already have four Malaysia Cup titles under their belt from 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2023, and a fifth championship is within reach
"Let's fill Bukit Jalil National Stadium in support of our Southern Tigers," he urged.
He also called on fans to gather at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri on Sunday night, 27 April, for a grand celebration.
