Perak Eatery Suspected Of Serving Drug-Laced Food After Customers Started Hallucinating
Three staff members, including a cook, tested positive for opiates.

A restaurant in Teluk Intan, Perak is under investigation by police and the Ministry of Health after several customers complained of experiencing hallucinations
According to theSun, a customer first suspected something was amiss when he felt fatigued and started hallucinating after dining at the Sultana Nasi Kandar restaurant.
At 11.20am on 20 February, the State Health Department and the police conducted a raid and detained the restaurant's cook and two of his assistants.
After the men were made to take urine tests, it was revealed that the three staff members tested positive for opiates
The suspects are reportedly between the ages of 30 and 70.
Several ingredients and dishes such as coconut sambal, mutton curry, fried chicken, bean sprouts, and white rice were seized by the police
Hilir Perak district deputy police chief Superintendent Yahaya Hassan told Berita Harian that the food was sent to the Department of Chemistry in Ipoh for inspection.
"A translucent plastic packet containing poppy seeds was also seized," he added.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 14 and 15(1)(a) Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
