[VIDEO] Unlicensed Traders Caught In A Brawl With Enforcement Officers At Klang Bazaar

In the videos, several men who were in their uniform appeared to be involved in a confrontation with some traders during the incident, before they were seen exchanging punches moments later.

Some other bystanders who were at the scene can be seen trying to intervene and break up the fight.

The videos have gone viral on social media, with at least one post receiving more than 35,000 shares at the time of writing. 

According to North Klang district police chief ACP Mazelan Paijan, a team of officers were at an Aidilfiti bazaar in Klang for enforcement checks when they found drink sellers operating their business there from a stall.

"When the complainants (MPK officers) asked them (traders) to show their business license, the two suspects failed to produce it," Mazelan said in a statement yesterday, 10 June, as reported by Bernama.

The officers attempted to seize the drink containers at the stall but the traders resisted, which eventually led to a physical altercation between the two parties.

The incident resulted in one enforcement officer getting hurt, Mazelan revealed.

It was reported that the two suspects, aged 18 and 41, had their statements recorded at 5am yesterday.

They were detained at the Sungai Kapar Indah Police Station and have been remanded for four days.

Mazelan said early investigations showed that the suspects’ were repeat offenders. Their stall was shut down recently, on 3 June, as they were operating without a license.

"MPK had issued a warning before this, but the two suspects were stubborn and continued to operate their business without a license," he was quoted as saying by Bernama.

The case is being investigated under Section 332 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt to a public servant.
