IGP: It's A Waste Of Police Resources To Investigate New Sodomy Allegations
A statutory declaration (SD) surfaced over the weekend, alleging an opposition leader of committing sodomy on five different occasions in 2013.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Abdul Hamid Bador said it is a waste of police resources to look into fresh sodomy allegations made in a statutory declaration (SD)
Over the weekend, a three-page SD surfaced on a local blog, alleging an opposition leader of having anal and oral intercourse with the claimant and his friend.
In response to that, Abdul Hamid said an investigation is currently underway, but he lamented that it is a probe that will waste the police department's resources, reported The Star.
"This matter is a waste of police resources, and I am sick of such matters," said the country's police chief today, 18 August.
"However, a police report has been lodged, thus an investigation paper has been opened."
The IGP added that Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has questioned the Commissioner for Oaths who handled the SD
"We are also in the midst of recording the statement of the one who made the SD as well," Abdul Hamid said.
Previously, a Malaysiakini report revealed that the claimant refused to comment further on the issue after confirming a police report had been lodged over the SD's publication on a local blog site.
According to him, the content of the SD has been manipulated.
Meanwhile, Bukit Aman CID deputy director DCP Mior Faridalathrash Wahid confirmed that they had received the claimant's police report
"We confirm that a report was lodged, and we are investigating the matter from all angles," Mior told The Star when contacted today.
"We hope the public will refrain from speculating as the matter is under investigation."
As of now, it is unsure how much of the content in the SD has been changed before it was made public on the local blog.
