IGP: A Political Party Leader Was Behind The Gay Sex Video To Bring Azmin Down
Those who produced the video were paid "hundreds of thousands of ringgit".

A gay sex video which allegedly featured Economics Affairs Minister Azmin Ali was the work of "a leader of a political party" with the intention to bring down the Minister by attacking his reputation, according to Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Abdul Hamid Bador
IGP Abdul Hamid said that police investigations have revealed that the group's intentions were to bring down the minister in question by attacking his reputation.
The IGP added that the video was produced by parties paid hundreds of thousands of ringgit, according to a report in The Star Online.
The people behind the video wanted to cause unrest among the public, he added.
While the IGP said that the possibility that the video is authentic is high, the results of the facial recognition came back negative
"Police have obtained the findings of an analysis on the video clips from CyberSecurity Malaysia. CyberSecurity has verified that the chances of the video clips being authentic were high.
"However, the results of the facial recognition (analysis) of the clips came back negative (meaning that) the identity of the (other) man in the video cannot be linked to the (minister)," he said in a statement, as reported by NST Online last night, 18 July.
The IGP said that the facial recognition analysis could not link those in the video with any individual, despite Haziq Aziz having admitted to being one of the men.
Haziq, who was Santubong PKR chief when the video came out, has claimed that the other man in the video was Azmin Ali.
Meanwhile, The Star Online reported the IGP denying that the police investigation into the case has any political interference
"We are conducting the investigation with utmost transparency and professionalism.
"We did not receive any political pressure or directive from any parties. We are investigating the matter without fear or favour," the English daily quoted him as saying.
