The apocalypse is back, and it’s dressed as a 1,350 foot-wide asteroid headed to a planet near you.

A team of Ukrainian astronomers have discovered a massive asteroid, 2013 TV135, that’s on track to hit earth Aug. 26, 2032, Russian news agency Ria Novosti reports. The discovery was confirmed by five other astronomy groups in Italy, the U.K., Spain and Russia’s Siberian republic of Buryatia.

"A 400-metre asteroid is threatening to blow up the Earth,” Russian vice-premier Dmitry Rogozin, who runs Russia's space industry, posted on his Twitter feed. “Here is a super target for the national cosmonautics.”

While scientists are unsure if the minor planet will actually hit earth, they estimate the explosion would equate to 2,500 megatons of TNT, or more vividly, “50 times greater the biggest nuclear bomb ever detonated.”

The rock, described as 2013 TV135, measuring an incredible 1345 feet

The asteroid has been given a danger rating of one of the Torino Scale, which calculates the risk of near-Earth objects hitting our planet

The space agency said the threat of the asteroid hitting earth was only one in 63,000 and the likelihood of it missing earth is 99.9984 per cent.

Don Yeomans, manager of Nasa’s Near-Earth Object Programme Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, said: "To put it another way, that puts the current probability of no impact in 2032 at about 99.998 per cent.

"This is a relatively new discovery. With more observations, I fully expect we will be able to significantly reduce, or rule out entirely, any impact probability for the foreseeable future."

Only one other asteroid has been given the same rating which is the 2007 VK184.

That 420-foot wide asteroid is believed to have the best chance of hitting earth, with odds of a collision in 2048 standing at one in 2700.
