Housewife Arrested For Plotting With 4 Men To Rob Her Own Home
Six individuals were nabbed by police in connection with the robbery.
A housewife has been arrested for working with a group of four robbers to stage a break-in at her own home in Felda Chini Timur 1, Pahang before making off with her mother-in-law's jewellery
Pekan district police chief Supt Mohd Zaidi Mat Zin stated that six individuals, including the housewife, were arrested on 15 May.
It is understood that the woman had initially posed as a robbery victim and lodged a police report on 20 March, claiming her home had been invaded by four knife-wielding men.
All the suspects, aged between 27 and 36, have been remanded until this Friday, 23 May, to assist with the ongoing investigation.
Further investigations revealed that four of the six suspects tested positive for methamphetamine and had prior criminal records
According to Mohd Zaidi, the housewife had faked the robbery after pre-planning it with one of the suspects
The victim reported losing over RM12,000, including two mobile phones, a necklace, and a bracelet.
"However, further investigation uncovered that the housewife had faked the robbery. The incident was pre-planned with one of the suspects to steal her mother-in-law's jewellery," he said.
The stolen jewellery was allegedly sold by the housewife to another suspect, with the proceeds used to settle debts owed to a loan shark.
The six suspects are being investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code for armed gang robbery, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years' imprisonment and caning upon conviction
The housewife is also being investigated under Section 182 of the Penal Code for making a false police report, an offence punishable by up to six months' imprisonment, a fine of up to RM2,000, or both.
