Man Who Married 11-Year-Old Has Paid A RM1,800 Fine And Obtained A Marriage Certificate
He pleaded guilty to two charges at a syariah court.

Che Abdul Karim Che Hamid, the man who sparked controversy by marrying an 11-year-old girl, pleaded guilty to two charges at the Gua Musang syariah court
The 41-year-old pleaded guilty to marrying a minor without prior consent from the syariah court and for engaging in polygamy without permission from his spouse, The Star reported.
The offences, which come under Section 19 and Section 124 of the Kelantan Islamic Family Law Enactment (No 6) 2002, each carry a maximum punishment of six months' imprisonment, or a fine of up to RM1,000, or both.
Judge Mohd Surbaineey Hussain agreed that no permission had been given by a registrar or syariah judge for the solemnisation, nor had the courts agreed to allow Che Karim to marry his third wife
According to The Star, the accused had earlier appealed to not to be sent to jail.
He was imposed a RM1,800 fine for both charges, which he paid yesterday, 9 July.
It was also reported on Sunday that Abdul Karim has recently obtained a marriage certificate from the Narathiwat Islamic Religious Council (NRC)
Hashim Yusof, the kadi who solemnised the union, revealed that, "I explained to him (Che Abdul Karim) that he needed to register their marriage in Malaysia as well," Harian Metro reported.
