Video footage of heavy rains causing flash floods at Genting Highlands went viral over the weekend, 14 July

The downpour, which lasted for over two hours, led to mud flow on the slopes at Genting Premium Outlets and the Awana SkyWay recreation centre.

Visitors and motorists were left stranded, as the water began to build up on the roads - and even entered several parts of the mall

Thankfully, no one was reported to have been seriously injured.

New Straits Times revealed that Awana SkyWay had to temporarily cease operations until the flood waters had receded.

It eventually receded at around 6pm, according to a spokesman from Genting Highlands Fire and Rescue department.

With Good Vibes Festival (GVF) coming up this weekend, attendees have raised concerns on Twitter over whether or not the event is still on

Good Vibes Festival organisers have since responded that the event will proceed, as the roadworks after the floods have been completed.

However, witnesses who are currently setting up the venue told SAYS that several parts of the area are quite muddy. And it would be good to be prepared anyway.
