Elderly Man Dies After His Motorcycle Hit A Pothole In KL

In an accident that happened earlier Sunday morning, 3 January, an elderly man died when the motorcycle he was riding skidded after hitting a pothole in Jalan Tengah towards the Mid Valley shopping mall

In the accident at 7.30am, the 75-year-old victim, Ho Yan Fee, who lived in Pandan Perdana, Cheras, was confirmed dead at the scene due to severe injuries he suffered, Berita Harian reported.

The victim was on his way from Jalan Connaught towards Mid Valley

According to Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) chief ACP Zulkefly Yahya, the victim slipped by himself after hitting the pothole that was on the middle lane.

"The victim's motorcycle is believed to have skidded after colliding with a pothole in the middle lane of the road that has three lanes before falling. Members of the medical team confirmed that the victim died at the scene and his body was sent to the University of Malaya Medical Center (UMMC) for an autopsy," he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
